Classy Citroen is a match for BMW 330

Drove Citroen's handsome C5 with its new 3.0-litre HDi V6 oil burner and was staggered by the 150mph shove and high 30s mpg. Amazingly brisk with a brisk six speed auto, the Hydractive suspension gives one of the best rides around and it's groaning with sybaritic niceties and plush trim. Only the slightly numb steering lets you down. If the £28,000 price seems a bit steep, the top drawer C5 feels more special and seperate than a BMW 330d.
